Morgan Sports Law successfully acts for Nicolas Pizarro in FEI anti-doping proceedings.

Summary

In March 2020, Mr Pizarro competed in the CSI2* in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, riding his horses Linkin Park and Come Back. Samples taken from both horses returned positive findings for Ractopamine – a substance on the FEI Prohibited Substances List.

Consequently, on 21 April 2020, Mr Pizarro was provisionally suspended by the FEI under the Equine Anti-Doping Rules (“EAD Rules”).

Further to the evidence presented on behalf of Mr Pizarro, the FEI and FEI Tribunal have accepted that Mr Pizarro bore no fault or negligence for the EAD Rule violation and that he will not serve any period of ineligibility. Mr Pizarro is therefore free to compete with immediate effect.
