News Anti-Doping Arbitration

Morgan Sports Law acts for Liverpool FC and French international football player Mamadou Sakho, in the dismissal of a doping charge against him.

Summary

Mr Sakho provided an in-competition sample following Liverpool FC’s UEFA Europa League fixture against Manchester United on 17 March 2016.  The analysis of the sample revealed the presence of a substance not listed on the Prohibited List, but which the World Anti-Doping Agency claimed to be prohibited.

Morgan Sports Law – acting on behalf of Mr Sakho – disputed the classification of the substance, as a consequence of which UEFA dismissed the charge and confirmed that no anti-doping rule violation had been committed.

Mike Morgan, Howard Jacobs and Donna Bartley acted for Mr Sakho.
