News Anti-Doping Arbitration

Morgan Sports Law acts for British tennis player, Daniel Evans, in anti-doping proceedings brought against him by the International Tennis Federation ("ITF").

Summary

In June 2017, Mr Evans was suspended from competition after testing positive for cocaine metabolites during an in-competition doping control test that took place in April 2017.

The ITF accepted Mr Evans’ defence that the positive test was caused by inadvertent exposure to trace amounts of the substance in a 24-hour window prior to the doping control test.

Morgan Sports Law successfully facilitated a Settlement Agreement with the ITF by which Evans’ suspension was reduced to one year, backdated to April 2017.

Mike Morgan of Morgan Sports Law acted for Mr Evans.
